Last week my boyfriend and I headed off to Copenhagen for a spontaneous day trip from London! We booked very last minute after seeing a great deal on Ryanair. This meant little time to do my usual research prior to visiting a new place.
We got the Metro from the airport straight into Nyhavn. We passed through plenty of Christmas markets before strolling around the canal.
By this point, we hadn’t eaten since early morning, and were becoming increasingly peckish! We stumbled across Gorms, an adorable underground pizzeria. Despite the grey day outside, there was a great ambience and cosy atmosphere. We ordered the Salumi pizza and the Mikkelinos Meat Ball pizza. Both delicious and absolutely recommended!

After lunch we continued walking through the City, around Strøget; Copenhagen’s main shopping street. Although the street hosts all the main fashion retailers, there were also plenty of independent design and furniture stores. Our favourites included Barlby Carlsson, Stilleben and Hay. Being interior designers, we are already fans of the works of Hay and visiting the flagship was one we didn’t want to miss. The showroom is spread over 2 floors and boasts many pieces we are absolutely coveting!Barlby Carlsson and Stilleben were filled with tempting products we could have spent far too much money on!
By now the sun had set and we headed over to Tivoli park. Walking around was like an absolute festive dream! They have made no shortage at embracing the season with lights and fake snow creating the perfect winter setting. Small boutiques and restaurants are scattered around the amusement park. I personally could spend every evening here from now until Christmas! Was a perfect end to a beautiful day!
